Reducing Our Impact on the Environment is an Important Part of Our Manufacturing Process.
We are Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Chain of Custody (CoC) certified. This gives you and your customer the option to use papers sourced from responsibly managed forests.
We have been acknowledged every year since 2011 by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council’s Green Masters Program. It is a program for businesses interested in improving, and being recognized for, their sustainability efforts.
Green Bay Packaging’s Heritage of Environmental Responsibility
Green Bay Packaging has long been a champion of the environment. As early as 1956, we have been incorporating recycled fiber into our corrugated papermaking process. Since 1990 our Green Bay Mill has used only 100% post-consumer fiber to make its paper.
In addition to saving trees through the use of recycled materials, we currently plant over five million trees annually on our own and other forest lands. More than 100 million trees have been planted since 1971.
Water conservation is also very important to us. Our Green Bay paper mill was one of the first linerboard mills to use a closed loop system. No direct discharge of process waste water is sent into the adjacent river.
These are just a few ways that we meet our present needs without compromising future resources.
